FIL fund is an umbrella closed-end real estate fund reserved to qualified investors. The main investors in the FIL fund are Regione Lombardia, Fondazione Cariplo and Fondo Investimenti per l’Abitare, managed by CDP Investimenti SGR S.p.A.
The primary aim of the Fund is to respond to the housing shortage in the Lombardy region by increasing the supply of social housing, combining economic returns with social objectives for institutional investors interested predominately in achieving ethical goals.
FIL-Comparto Uno, one of the two sub-fund of the FIL Fund established in 2006 with a duration of 50 years, together with Fondazione Housing Sociale, has a significant track record in managing social housing development projects. Those projects are designed to offer an integrated solution to the shortage of affordable housing in the Lombardy Region, combining traditional real estate asset management activities with social promotion initiatives and community management activities.
During the past three years the strategy of the fund has been focused on rapidly reaching the expected asset allocation, by identifying investment opportunities and drawing down equity commitments. The Fund’s management activities were focused on scouting and assessing new initiatives and managing the facilities already acquired to optimize their long-term profitability.
